Your eligible deposits with Hampshire Trust Bank (HTB) are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), the UK’s depositor protection scheme, up to the applicable limit.
The FSCS protects most depositors, including individuals, companies and small local authorities up to a limit of £85,000.
For the purpose of calculating the applicable limit for joint account holders, each holder is deemed to have an equal share (to the nearest £1) of the joint account total. This means, for example, that if you had a joint account with one other person and neither of you had any other deposits with us, the limit for your joint account would be £170,000.
Any deposits you hold above the FSCS compensation limit are unlikely to be covered, unless under specific circumstances, as determined by the FSCS.
